bad romance

quirky.. but very entertaining music video. a new one from the lady gaga. not exactly the most sexy dance moves.. but it's very her style. her costumes.. well, need i say more, they're my favourite part of her. i like her look in the silver net thingy with her hair down and the black outfit with the bling-blings and floating crystals all around her (check out her heels with this outfit). she looks abit like gwen stefani don't you think? it's good that she writes her own music.. because i think only she can pull it off. oh, and the last scene.. that one is a 'thumbs up'.

HE'S BACK!!!

yes.. pow is back! he bluffed (planned to surprise) me and told me he's coming back on 2 dec. today i came home with daddy and mummy after school as usual.. came in the door least expecting. and lo and behold, someone was sitting at our dining table. i was wondering why is chun chong sitting there...

"BUT WAIT", i thought to myself, "how come chun chong so tanned? and he's wearing a super familiar looking polo. OMG!!! IT'S POW!"

i screamed and then i started crying. he didn't know what to do so he just hugged me. very loser of me, i know. but i'm really not one for surprises.. although this was a very pleasant one. after i got over the shock, i couldn't stop smiling.. because my pow was there right in front of me. still can't believe doh and jerry knew all this while, raisa and my parents were let in on it earlier today. grrr! but nevermind, all that matters now is that he's back. (:

i'll be busy with school for the next week. like really busy. i have classes every night (afternoons on sat) except sundays and hari raya haji. thank God it's only until next week. mid-sem test may be postponed.. i hope it does.

it's almost a week since i got back.. i miss him.

dinner at tao's

raisa and chun chong suggested dinner at tao's restaurant for daddy's belated birthday celebration on monday night. always saw the ad on tv but haven't actually tried it. they both gave very good reviews about the place and their extremely hospitable service. one of their staff, frankie, was really attentive. maybe because he recognise raisa and chun chong thus he was so kind as to give us 5 COMPLIMENTARY DISHES OUT OF THE 7!! i was really touched. the 7-course meal was quite alot, according to raisa. so out plan was to just order 4 sets to share among the 5 of us. in the end, we had 5 sets of everything except the beverage and main entree. i'll definitely be back here again.. not for any complimentary dish but because i'm very pleased with the food. for someone like me who eats alot.. 7-course meal is good. hahaha! we all got to choose what we wanted so we ordered mostly different stuffs to try. this might make your mouth water.. are you ready?

starter:

bacon and mushroom gratin.

and some orange ice-blend thingy. haha.. it's nice and refreshing la

i must say, the gratin is fantastic. it's kind of like a spread for the bread.. and they go really well together. i can even just eat the gratin on its own la!

salads:

my smoked salmon salad. (raisa and daddy ordered this too.)

it's really good.. salmon with veges. nice combi.

prawn roll with pork floss (chun chong)

fruit salad (mummy)

it's topped with mango sauce and something.. can't remember.

appetizer:

i don't remember what this is called.. but i love love love it!

because i'm a big fan of mushrooms.. all types of mushrooms!

beverages:

my iced tropical grapefruit tea.

i love the cup la.. so cute.

iced grape mellow tea (raisa)

iced rose apple tea (daddy)

i really like this one.. although mummy complains it's too sweet.

but apple and rose, such a nice combi.. if you know how to appreciate la.

soups:

my cream of pumpkin.

double-boiled shark's fin melon soup (daddy)

fish consumme (mummy & raisa)

all the soups were nice. can't really choose a favourite because the flavours are very different. but you do get what they say you'll get. the pumpkin soup was nice and creamy, the double-boiled was really clear and the fish consumme.. just taste awesome.

main entrees:

my baked atlantic flounder with CHEESE. (:

lovely dish.. fish is fresh and cheese is delicious!

spicy stingray (daddy)

really quite spicy.. but i think pow will like. haha!

tao's grilled jumbo chicken leg (mummy)

tao's oven roasted steak (chun chong)

one of the rare places where i think the steak served is good.

not chewy at all.. literally will melt in your mouth. i'll probably get this next time.

dessert:

my tiramisu.

i know it looks pathetically small.. but after eating so much, that slice is just perfect.

i thought my tiramisu wasn't that bad. it's just the way i like it.. not too much alcohol taste. the creme brulee too.. or maybe it's just because i like to crack into it. haha.

then, frankie came with our 'cake' and we surprised daddy. come, everybody sing song! (:

trip to orchard ion

meet the ya-yas on sunday after jurong service. the girls decided to bring me around ion! went to see sephora and other stuff, kikki.k too.. which was first introduced by jerry back in perth. spent most of the evening at cedele talking. seriously, we could go on forever. i'm really glad to meet up with them finally.. and not to mention i'm super happy for hadh who's so blissfully attached now. haha! just before we left, we went to take photos outside ion..

it's great to be back girls.. can't wait for the subsequent 'meet & greet' sessions. (:

it felt good to hear that when the air stewardess announced that we've arrived and touched down in singapore. i'm finally back! exams ended on tuesday but there was so much to do i didn't have time to update until now..

i think SQ revamped their aircarfts. the seats are different.. better in fact. and there are so many movies to choose from! their 'new release' are really very new.. "the time traveller's wife" was showing! but pow promised to watch it with me when he gets back.. so i'll wait. jerry and i choose to watch my sister's keeper and julie & julia during our 5-hour flight. the former was.. totally brilliant! i cried at so many points in the show.. even jerry also. anyway, food served has improved also. the potato salad and ham appetizer was my favourite!

finally arrived back home in singapore.. feels good to be back. thanks ya-yas for the lovely welcome, and dear hadh for bringing a special guest. can't wait to catch up with you girls on sunday!

exam week

i'm counting down to my return home. *beams* 11 more days people.. i can't wait. it's not that i don't like australia.. in fact, i'm getting quite used to living here. but i really miss the wonderful people back home. now i just need to get over my 5 papers first.. wish me luck.

i'm not sure if this is a track from 小鬼's album (if he is finally coming out with one) or just a random single. but it's really cute. i think ben will like this alot. HAHA!
